Our guest speaker in February will be Meghan Hiryak, Outreach Advocate at Bloom365, regarding her findings on hysterectomies and the intersection of race and reproductive rights.
I work as an Outreach Advocate for Bloom365, a nonprofit organization that works with adolescents to prevent and educate about relationship and sexual violence from root causes and promotes building healthy relationships. I work directly with high school and middle teens as a program facilitator, teaching and developing curriculum. I am passionate about women’s health, increasing cross-cultural competency with healthcare professionals, as well as finding solutions to improve equity in healthcare. I am also determined to be able to comfortably teach and work using the Spanish language and am constantly looking for ways to improve my fluency. I graduated from Arizona State University with a BA in Women and Gender Studies in December of 2018.
