Women’s March on Washington: Prescott

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
…and their answers

What are you marching for? Is this an anti-Trump protest?

This is a march for women, and is a continuation of struggles many women have been dealing with for a very long time. This is not about one person, one administration or one election cycle. This is about centuries of oppression, discrimination, assault, and a war of fear that has been waged on many women in this country. This march embodies the power of women to manifest change in our society, in our politics, in our communities and in our lives.

Who is invited to this event?

This event is open to anyone who believes women’s rights are human rights, regardless of a woman’s race, ethnicity, religion, immigration status, sexual identity, gender expression, economic status, age or disability.

What time should I show up?

Gathering will start about 12 PM, but the march itself will not begin until closer to 1:00pm. We are working through details of having speakers and performers during the gathering time, before the march.

Will this event be safe for my kids?

This march is peaceful, and our planning groups are focusing their efforts on the safety of all marchers. We will provide guidance on how you can help make this a safe and peaceful march as the event gets closer. The decision to bring your children is a personal one.

I’m driving, where do I park?

Click here for the website and a link to a map of downtown parking. Additionally, we suggest carpooling.

What happens on January 22?

The movement does not stop when everyone goes home after the march. Each day, every one of us lives our values. We uphold ourselves, our families and our communities to live the vision of the world we seek. We honor our sisters, defend the rights of our neighbors and find ways to bring justice and peace to those in need. We plan to continue action beyond this march, and will communicate further in February.
