VOTE FOR YOUR FUTURE: A Summit for Democracy | Campus Interest Form
Register to become a Campus Lead for Vote for Your Future: A Summit for Democracy, a hybrid nationwide event tentatively scheduled for October 3, 2022, from 6-8 PM EST. We are looking for students who are seeking to connect with activists, political leaders, and other politically-engaged peers across the country to join us as Campus Leads. This will be an opportunity to gain leadership and/or political experience.
The responsibilities of Campus Leads would include:
- Reserving a space on campus
- Organizing outreach to encourage students to participate
- Connecting the campus participants to the main Zoom event
Vote for Your Future: The project aims to bring together students on campuses across the country, hopefully at least one campus from every state, for a hybrid pre-election event in early October designed to get out the vote. In partnership with voting, reproductive rights, and gun safety organizations, we aim to push to get-out-the-vote among young people in college campuses for the mid-term election. We are highlighting reproductive rights and gun safety as key issues that affect the future of young people across the country. The program would be a mix of education, entertainment, and inspiration, and we are looking to feature prominent activists and political leaders, such as Gloria Steinem, who has expressed support for our efforts. Our growing list of partners includes: Black Voters Matter, Supermajority, and Voto Latino.
Our model is Campus ERA Day, an annual event featuring a collection of campuses that convened in-person gatherings on their college campus, all of which were connected by Zoom. The event has brought thousands of people together to discuss the importance of the Equal Rights Amendment – constitutional equality for women. Last year Campus ERA Day brought together students from 52 campuses across 26 states.
