AZ Celebrates the 19th Amendment honors the history of women’s suffrage. They strongly advocate for women’s equality and protection under constitutional law by passing the Equal Rights Amendment. They encourage women to become active community leaders and to seek political office, and support young women who aspire to become our future leaders through education. Most importantly, they strongly urge women to get out and VOTE!

PROGRAM:

KEYNOTE: Kathy Hoffman, AZ Superintendent of Public Instruction. After winning her position as State Superintendent just about a year ago, Kathy Hoffman has been traveling the state visiting with students, teachers and parents. AZ Celebrates the 19th Amendment is excited to have Kathy as their Keynote Speaker this year, and to hear what her plans are for Arizona moving forward.

Mayor Coral Evans – Flagstaff, AZ. First elected to office 2008, Mayor Evans served two terms (eight years) as a Councilmember prior to her election as Mayor of the City of Flagstaff in 2016. She was re-elected Mayor in 2018. In addition to serving on the Flagstaff City Council, Mayor Evans is the Executive Director of the Sunnyside Neighborhood Association of Flagstaff, Inc., a resident driven social profit (nonprofit) organization that focuses on the redevelopment, growth and prosperity of one of city’s most challenged neighborhoods. Prior to this role, she was the Vice-President of Mission Services for Goodwill Industries of Northern Arizona. She is also the owner of a small business (Destiney’s Creations) and a published author (A Conversation with Alma).
