I attended HERSummit on Saturday and it was excellent! About 60 people showed up, including about a dozen advocacy and women’s organizations.

I have attached the event guide, which will tell you everything about the event. But basically the conference was one of similar events happening throughout the country. It was organized by Population Connection Action Fund, an NGO that works on reproductive right issues throughout the world.

We learned about Trump’s Gag Rule, its consequences throughout the world, and how to take action. There was a panel with great speakers (including Rep. Salman and Quiana Dickenson), various workshops, and Rep. Ruben Gallego and Ann Kirkpatrick also spoke.

We learned a lot, and I gathered some really valuable information about grassroots tactics to take action on issues that matter (i.e. petitioning, phonebanking, bird dogging, social media…etc.). The campaign director also said that they will be organizing various trainings on those advocacy tactics and tools; I plan to attend some of them and will send the details when she emails.
