FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
…and their answers

What are you marching for? Is this an anti-Trump protest?

This is a march organized by women, and speaks to the struggles many women have dealt with for a very long time. This is not about one administration or one election cycle. This is about centuries of oppression, discrimination and assaults on people of color, the LGBTQIA community, and a war of fear that has been waged on marginalized groups in this country, such as our Muslim community. This march embodies the power of women to manifest change in our society, in our politics, in our communities and in our lives.

Who is invited to this event?

This event is open to anyone who believes women’s rights are human rights, regardless of a woman’s race, ethnicity, religion, immigration status, sexual identity, gender expression, economic status, age or disability.

What time should I show up?

Gathering will start about 10:00AM, but the march itself will not begin until closer to 11:00. We are working through details of having speakers and performers during the gathering time, before the march.

I’m in a wheelchair (or disabled, or have children in stroller) – how will that work?

We are making every effort for planning the entire event accessible at the AZ Capital, the march route and areas defined for wheelchairs and strollers.

What is the actual march route?

We are finalizing the route with the City of Phoenix and will announce the route as soon as we can.

Will this event be safe for my kids?

This march is peaceful, and our planning groups are focusing their efforts on the safety of all marchers. We will provide guidance on how you can help make this a safe and peaceful march as the event gets closer. The decision to bring your children is a personal one.
